Officers in plainclothes are monitoring traffic specifically looking for drivers using cell phones. It is part of their monthly initiative “Operation Stay Focused.”
The plainclothes officers then radio information to traffic units in the area.
Police stopped 30 vehicles in less than two hours Wednesday morning.
