A report on the Rt. Hon. Herb Gray Parkway girders is complete.
Windsor-Tecumseh MPP Percy Hatfield, who's also the NDP infrastructure critic, says a briefing meeting he was supposed to have with the ministry Monday was cancelled.
“You've been looking into whether or not those structures have to be replaced,” Hatfield said at question period at Queen’s Park. “Can you update the house this morning on the latest information you have at your disposal?"
The report written by engineers looked into whether girders used on the parkway meet provincial standards.
The review was ordered by Minister of Transportation Glen Murray in June and was due by the end of August, but that was extended until the end of September.
Murray says his ministry is just now reviewing the study.
“The chief engineer had a day with it,” says Murray. “It's his responsibility to make recommendations to the ministry and government. I have said to the opposition they'll have a full briefing prior to its release and we are committed to doing that.”
Murray didn't say when the report would be released to the public.
