A 46-year-old LaSalle man is facing 44 fraud charges after several people were allegedly bilked out of over $1 million in losses.
After a lengthy investigation, Windsor police say he entered into multiple agreements to install solar panels with several complainants.
The alleged victims say that they entered into agreements with the suspect to build a large solar system under the Ontario Feed in Tariff program and attach them to the power grid.
Police say the suspect demonstrated a consistent pattern of defrauding individuals by not beginning the project or partially completing the projects and never getting them to the point of operability and then removing himself.
Officers also allegedly found receipts and other documents that were determined to be false.
Michael Levesque, 46, from LaSalle is currently charged with 44 fraud-related offences.
Police believe there may be other victims.
