A million dollar fire in LaSalle has displaced three families and sent three people to hospital.
According to LaSalle fire, the blaze broke out around 3 a.m. at a residence on Crystal Harbour Drive. Crews say the structure was fully engulfed when they arrived on scene.
Damage is extensive at the three attached dwellings, coming in at an estimated $1-million. Investigators believe the fire possibly started in the garage, but a cause is still unknown. Three families have been displaced as a result.
"It presented a couple of challenges. We had a fair bit of wind through the evening and due to the placement of the buildings here we could really only attack from the one side - from the front of the structure so it was just a matter of massive amounts of water. Once we extinguished the heavy body of flame in the attic, then we were able to get crews into the interior," says LaSalle fire chief Dave Sutton.
Three people were also taken to hospital with minor injuries, including one firefighter.
