A Windsor city councillor says he needs more time to decide whether to run as a candidate for a local provincial byelection.
Ward 7 councillor Percy Hatfield says the NDP party has approached him to run for the Windsor-Tecumseh riding.
Hatfield was going to take the weekend to decide, but he says he was preoccupied by the city budget.
He says he needs a couple more weeks.
The seat was left vacant after former Finance Minister Dwight Duncan stepped down as MPP last month.
