Windsor police have arrested four people after an assault on a 22-year-old man in a University Avenue parking lot.
Police say the victim was stabbed with a knife and hit with a baseball bat around 3:15 a.m. Thursday. They found him at the bottom of the stairs, in the entrance of a nearby apartment building in the 2000 block of University Avenue West.
The man had a significant wound to his head and was bleeding heavily. He also had a small puncture wound to his lower back. An ambulance transported him to hospital with the non-life-threatening injuries.
After the incident, several suspects fled in a vehicle. The description was broadcast by police and they were stopped at 3:29 a.m. in the 2200 block of Charl Avenue by several police units.
Police arrested three men and one woman ages 28, 49, 43, and 21 respectively. They were arrested for assault causing bodily harm.
It was later discovered that the suspect vehicle, a GMC pickup truck, was stolen from the 6000 block of Tecumseh Road East.
