Halifax Regional police say the body of Loretta Saunders was found by RCMP west of Salisbury, New Brunswick on Wednesday afternoon.
She was found off Route 2 of the Trans-Canada Highway and forensic investigators are in the process of retrieving her remains.
Earlier Wednesday, police had said Saunders' disappearance was being treated as a homicide.
Authorities changed the case after identifying suspects in the homicide. Police say they are not looking for anyone else and charges are anticipated.
Two suspects accused of stealing Saunders’ cars are now both in a Halifax, NS jail. Victoria Henneberry, 28, was transferred from the Windsor Jail back to Nova Scotia. She joins her boyfriend, 25-year-old Blake Leggette, who was picked up by authorities on Sunday.
Investigators say Saunders was last seen at her apartment in the Cowie Hill Road area on Feb. 13.
Her family reported her missing on Feb. 17.
Three Ontario charges against the pair, which include possession over stolen property, possession under stolen property, and possession of used credit card, have all been stayed by the Crown.
Essex County OPP arrested Hennenberry and Leggette after the vehicle belonging to Saunders was found in Harrow, Ont. last Tuesday.
Originally from Newfoundland and Labrador, Loretta has been a student at Saint Mary's University for the past three years and is an aspiring lawyer. She recently completed a thesis on murdered and missing women.
Anyone who may have seen Loretta or her car, a blue Toyota Celica with Newfoundland and Labrador plate HCP 543, is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
Loretta is described as an Inuk woman, 5'7" tall, 120 pounds with straight, light brown hair.
