An early morning fire in Lakeshore has destroyed a home.
Firefighters were called to this Belle River house at 271 Broadway Street around 4:30 a.m. on Monday.
The fire was fully involved when crews arrived on scene.
Fire chief Don Williamson tells CTV News a man and his three puppies got out safely.
Williamson says the man was in the middle of renovations and didn't have working smoke alarms. His dogs woke him out of his sleep.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation as officials assess the damage.
