An Amherstburg woman made a video appearance in a London court Tuesday to face charges stemming from the discovery of a dead baby in a London dumpster.
London police said a newborn was discovered behind 675 Richmond St. on June 16, but have not disclosed the gender.
Samantha Richards, 23, from Amherstburg, was arrested in Amherstburg on Saturday.
She is charged with neglecting to obtain assistance in childbirth and disposing of a child's body after delivery.
The owners of the Dug Out Sports Lounge and the Bull & Barrel on Ouellette Avenue in Windsor confirm Richards was an employee there.
Both say she left their establishments two month ago.
Several servers say the young woman left to take an internship in London.
A publication ban was imposed on evidence and information heard in the brief hearing.
Police continue to investigate.
