CTV News has learned the identity of an Amherstburg man who died in a crash on E.C. Row Tuesday night.
Don Russell, 66, was killed when his motorcycle collided with a car on E.C. Row near Jefferson around 10:55 p.m.
Russell worked at Onfreight Logistics in Tecumseh. He was a truck driver, travelling between Windsor and Toronto five days a week.
Onfreight president Steve Ondejko says Russell was one of the best truck drivers they had. He says Russell also had a passion for motorcycles.
The employees at Onfrieght say Russell was an overall great guy. He was someone you can rely on, always willing to offer a helping hand.
"It's been tough for everybody," says Ondejko.
Police say a 2007 Infinity struck the motorcycle from behind, causing the victim to be thrown from the bike.
The 22-year-old driver of the Infinity, David Cassady, was arrested at the scene. He is charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and criminal negligence causing death.
He was released on bail after appearing in court on Wednesday. Cassady will return to court on Aug. 25.
The stretch of E.C. Row was closed for over 16 hours while police investigated on Wednesday.
