There was no crying wolf this time, the snow arrived in record-breaking amounts for some areas.
From Windsor, through London and beyond a stubborn system from Colorado has left southwestern Ontario bathed in white, bringing the first true snow of the season for many areas, and adding to totals others saw last Friday.
Snowfall at Windsor Airport for Sunday was 28.4 centimetres, breaking the previous record for Dec. 11, of 17.4 centimetres set in 2000.
Many of the main roads and highways have been plowed in Windsor. Some areas across southwestern Ontario saw as much as 25cm of snow which will leave some heavy shovel work for those who haven’t already tried to tackle their lane ways.
CTV News will update this story with any potential bus cancellations throughout the morning in the region.
On Sunday, provincial police across the region dealt with numerous calls for collisions and vehicles spinning off roads. For many this weekend was a quick reminder of how to drive in winter conditions.
