The first ever Ed Jovanovski charity golf classic in support of the Canadian Cancer Society, is being hailed as a hole-in-one.

The retired NHL player hosted the tournament in July at Pointe West Golf Club in Amherstburg.

A number of former and current hockey players attended, and thanks in part to their support, Jovanovski presented a cheque for $50,000 to the Cancer Society on Thursday.

Jovanovski says the money will support breast cancer research. It’s a cause close to the Windsor-native’s heart since his mother is a breast cancer survivor and is now in remission.

Jovanovski is already planning his next tournament, which will be held July 20, 2018 at Pointe West.
