The future of Windsor’s roads is up for debate tonight.
Windsor city councillors are looking at 20-year funding models and resulting projections for roads at an executive committee meeting.
Administration is recommending a half per cent tax levy each year until 2035 to be used exclusively for road rehabilitation and reconstruction for the existing roadways.
The work would follow a general order of priority of E.C. Row Expressway, arterial roads, collector roads, and then local roads.
The impact of a half per cent dedicated roads levy would have an incremental annual impact on the average homeowner ($150,000 assessed value) of about $14.
