Emergency services in Windsor have unveiled a new mobile command post that will be used during disastrous situations in the city.
At a news conference on Monday morning, the Windsor Police Service and Windsor Fire and Rescue Services showed off the new command centre at the Riverfront Festival Plaza.
The command centre, which is worth over $1-million, is previously used, but has been upgraded with the latest technology. The vehicle resembles that of a fire truck, and will replace two obsolete command buses. The old command centres were outdated and commissioned from buses made in the 1980s.
The command post is deployed during disasters or other serious situations that involve emergency coordination.
