Windsor police say they have arrested and charged a suspect with second-degree murder related to the Brant Street homicide.
Colin Chrisjohn, 24, from Windsor is charged with second-degree murder.
The body of Amir Hayat Malik, a 32-year-old Windsor man, was found in an alley behind 563 Brant Street last Thursday.
Officers at the scene say there was obvious signs of trauma to the victim and he was pronounced deceased. The deceased male was later identified as Malik.
Major Crime Branch detectives along with other units began to investigate the death which was deemed to be a homicide.
Post-mortem examination results indicate that Malik died as a result of blood loss caused by severe trauma to the body, according to police.
Police say through an extensive investigation detectives were able to identify a person allegedly responsible for the death. The suspect was located and placed under arrest.
Police are continuing with the investigation and are gathering additional information as a result of the arrest.
