Underage driver charged with impaired driving: OPP

OPP officers in Lakeshore have charged a young driver with impaired charges following an incident on Jan. 3.

At 2:40 a.m., police were called to a single vehicle collision on 1st Street near Railway Avenue in Belle River.

When officers arrived on scene, they spoke to the driver, leading to his arrest.

An 18-year-old Lakeshore man has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus as a result.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension and a seven-day vehicle impound was put in place on the driver’s license and vehicle.
