Two provincial party leaders stopped in Windsor-Essex, hoping to boost their party's profiles ahead of the federal election.
Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne visited Highbury Canco Corp Plant in Leamington this morning.
"It's very encouraging to see how far you have come since June of last year," says Wynne.
She says she also has concerns with the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
"I'm particularly concerned about the auto sector,” says Wynne. “I'm going to continue to call on the federal government to make sure we have a trade agreement that is supportive of industry in Ontario."
In the afternoon, she’s spoke at the annual convention of the Provincial Building and Construction Trades Council of Ontario at Caesars Windsor.
Ontario NDP leader Andrea Horwath was also in the region. She made a stop in Amherstburg.
Horwath says the Liberal party is no competition in the federal election
"It's only a two-way race here and only Tom Mulcair and the NDP can defeat Harper and repair the damage he has done," says Horwath.
She says the TPP will only hurt Canadians.
"New Democrats don't oppose new trade deals for the sake of opposing trade deals,” says Horwath. “We know we need to participate in the global markets, however, we need to make sure we are getting the e best deal possible for Canada."
