Human error is being blamed for acceptance notifications emailed to 2,000 St. Clair College students and prospective students.
A college spokesperson says when the mistake was brought to the attention to officials another e-mail was issued saying to ignore the acceptance letter.
John Fairley says it’s understandable some people were upset, but he adds letters through Canada Post confirming acceptance were sent out around the same time.
Fairley says emails are not the preferred method of notification and students for many courses have to fulfill certain requirements before entering a program.
