The Windsor Spitfires met the Flint Firebirds on the ice once more on Saturday evening, hoping to rebound after a loss in London on Friday.

The Spitfires were looking to defend their past victories against the Firebirds, winning all three of their previous games this season.

They bounced back with an 8-6 win.

The first period saw Windsor come out of the gate swinging, up for 4-0 with goals from Abraham, Woodall, Cristoforo and Protas. The Firebirds managed to secure a goal before the end of the period.

The second period saw the offensive surge continue, with two more goals in the bag by Morneau and Greentree, with one additional goal late in the frame for the Firebirds.

In the third, the Spitfires lost some of their momentum, with three goals in a row from the Firebirds, bringing the score to 7-6.

The Spitfires managed to secure one more goal, Protas locked in the win with a hat-trick goal in an empty net, bringing the final score to 8-6.

They are back in action once more on Thursday against the Sudbury Wolves in Windsor.
