There are now three candidates in Tecumseh vying to fill the vacant council seat left open by the late Mike Rohrer.

Rohrer passed away suddenly last May.

His family gathered to endorse Bill Altenhof to carry Rohrer's vision.

"Mike was a gentlemen who did not stand still for long, I refer to him as a man who kind of had his hair on fire,” says Altenhof. “He was moving forward and I don't think he would want us standing still I think he would want us to move forward in progress as best we can so I certainly appreciate the support of the Rohrer's with that.”

Altenhof is an engineering professor at the University Of Windsor and close family friend.

Chris Carpenter and Scott Shields are also running in the Oct. 14 by-election.

Those interested have until Aug. 30 to file their nomination.
