Researchers asking for help with Windsor hum investigation

The federal government will fund a scientific investigation into the so-called Windsor Hum, a low-frequency rumble that has been rattling residents of the Ontario border city for nearly two years.

Researchers from Western University are asking people affected by the Windsor hum to report any annoyances associated with the phenomenon.

Residents are encouraged to fill out an online form at http://physics.uwo.ca/windsor_hum_form.html or contact Western PhD candidate Elizabeth Silber.

Last month, the Canadian government launched a new study to identify the source of the recurring vibration and noise that has been disturbing people for almost two years.

Silber, Western astronomer Peter Brown, Meteor Physics Group technician Zbyszek Krzeminski and the University of Windsor's Colin Novak are all researching the root of the hum.
