One man is in hospital and another, under arrest after he allegedly lit the victim on fire while the two were sitting in a car.

Police say the victim reported he was in a vehicle in the area of Caroline Street and Bruce Avenue around noon on Feb. 22. when a person known to him entered the vehicle.

According to the victim’s statement, the pair got into an argument, during which time the victim reported that the suspect directed lighter fluid on him and proceeded to ignite the victim. It’s alleged that property was taken from the victim as well.

Investigation revealed that an adult male victim had received non-life-threatening burn injuries as a result of an assault.

The suspect then ran from the vehicle and the victim attended hospital for treatment of his injuries.  After investigation, police were able to identify the involved suspect.

The Windsor Police Problem Oriented Policing (POP) unit located and arrested the suspect near the 1500 block of Crawford Avenue without incident.

Kenneth Jones, a 29-year-old Windsor man is charged with assault with a weapon, aggravated assault and robbery.
