More than $32,000 donated for pet beds and upgrades at Humane Society
The animals at the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society (WECHS) got an upgrade as a donation bought them some new beds.
More than $32,000 was raised from Giving Tuesday, $11,000 of which bought the 45 new Karunda beds.
The beds were put together by volunteers from Sun-Built Custom Homes.
“We’re having a blast today with them, putting them all together,” said Lynnette Bain, executive director of WECHS.
“I think the best part is going to be when they actually get to place them in a kennel and see the dogs enjoy them, sprawling out, and they’re a really great quality bed. It’s a big investment, but they’re top of the line and we want the best for our animals.”
The rest of the money will go towards kennel upgrades, medical care, food, and training.
