Windsor-Essex residents will get an up-close look at the new Chrysler Pacifica plug-in hybrid electric vehicle this weekend as part of Earth Day celebrations.

Unifor Local 444 and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will be presenting the new Windsor-built at Malden Park on Sunday.

It will be at the community Earth Day celebration in the park. Officials say this is the first opportunity to get up-close to this practical and environmentally-friendly vehicle.

Other Earth Day activities:

-The Unifor Windsor Regional Environment Council will be asking Citizens to sign a "Green Ribbon Love Letter to Ojibway" and the Local 444 Environment Committee will host our Water Jeopardy game.

-Syrian Newcomers celebrate Earth Day by giving back to the community! Saturday, April 23 - Unifor Local 444 and the Syrian Council of Canada (Windsor) are gathering a  group of Syrian newcomers families to help clean up our environment and learn about solar energy and Ojibway Park.

          -8:30 am- The families will work with volunteers from Local 444 to clean up litter at Stodgell Park, located at the corner of Seneca St. and Kildare Rd. in Windsor. https://goo.gl/maps/NhBhV9NTGUR2

           -9:30 am - They will cross the street to visit the Green Sun Rising Renewable Technology Centre located at 1680 Kildare Rd. to learn about Solar Energy and tour the facility. http://www.greensunrising.com/

-Microplastics in the Great Lakes-FREE public session.
