A tractor trailer experienced a leak of hazardous material while exiting Highway 401 near Lakeshore.
The westbound off ramp to Puce Road and Essex County Road 42 at Puce Road had to be closed as the situation was assessed. It was re-opened around 2:45 p.m.
Police say the leak happened as the truck rounded the off ramp onto Puce Road. Lakeshore Fire Service, the Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of the Environment were all contacted to assist.
There was no danger to the public, but police were asking motorists to avoid travelling in that area if possible.
