A 27-year-old University of Windsor student has been announced as the Green Party candidate for the upcoming Windsor-Tecumseh byelection.
Adam Wright will be on the ballot for the Green Party on Aug.1.
“I think for me this is a great opportunity to connect with people in the community and to promote the Green Party platform,” says Wright.
Aside from taking summer courses for his undergrad in environmental studies at U of W, Wright is the site manager for the Downtown Farmers Market.
“Through this role, I’ve had a chance to interact with vendors and members of the community,” says Wright. “We create quality goods here in Essex County.”
Wright also has a Bachelor of Arts in media and film from the University of Windsor and a creative arts and language diploma from a Quebec College.
He was born in Quebec, raised in Halifax, and has been in Windsor for seven years.
Wright is holding a meet and greet Thursday night at the Walkerville Brewery from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
