Organizer are revving up for the sixth annual Bob Probert Ride this June.
Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare, Dani Probert, and sponsor UNIFOR Local 444, gathered at Thunder Road Harley-Davidson Wednesday for the official launch of the ride honouring the late Red Wings player.
Former NHLer Ryan VandenBussche will be this year's road captain for the ride on Sunday, June 26.
This year's ride will take participants on a scenic tour of Windsor and Essex County launching from Thunder Road with stops at the Verdi Club, Colchester Bar and Grill and Sandbar Waterfront Grill before returning to the final stop in Walkerville District.
Riders and their passengers will be able to enjoy refreshments and food at the various local establishments in a mini "Port Dover" street festival experience after the ride.
Funds raised at this year's event will support the development of a proposed new satellite Rehabilitation (Cardiac) Wellness Program planned for an east end location.
Returning for the third year, the Probert Classic taking place on Friday, June 3 at Tecumseh Arena will once again be bringing NHL, OHL and AHL players together for the charity game.
Tickets for this event organized by Tierney Probert are just $5 with all proceeds supporting the Probert Ride. Puck drop is 7 p.m.
