Windsor police officers on patrol arrested four people after responding to a disturbance in the area of University and Ouellette Avenues early Saturday morning.
Around 2:15 a.m. police found an unconscious 25-year-old male laying on the ground who was being helped by several people including a 25-year-old who was bleeding from a stab wound in his back.
Investigators say a fight had broken out that moved into the alley next to the former Windsor Armoury that led to one man being punched and knocked out and to another being stabbed. Both were treated in hospital.
Police say four males were seen leaving the area when they afrived and four were arrested in connection with the incident.
As a result, Nicholas McCullough, 21, and Matthew Fortier, 22, have each been charged with aggravated assault. Police say additional charges are pending.
The two other persons of interest have been released from police custody, but police say additional charges are pending against them depending on the results of the investigation.
