Daniel Cress is News Director for CTV Windsor. Appointed to the role in 2020, Cress is responsible for Windsor’s #1 news broadcasts. He oversees programming, news gathering and operations across television and digital platforms.

Prior to this role Cress was News Operations Manager for Bell Media Ottawa, acting as part of the editorial leadership team to oversee the day-to-day logistics of news broadcasts on CTV Ottawa, CTV Morning Live, and NEWSTALK 580 CFRA, as well as larger special projects. Broadcasting and journalism became an early interest for Cress who as a child was fascinated with all things media. Throughout his education Cress focused on content creation and storytelling on a variety of platforms, writing for student papers and magazines, online outlets, and producing video including documentary films. He received his Honours Bachelor of Journalism in 2013 jointly from the University of Ottawa and Algonquin College. During his studies Cress also worked for CBC News as a chase producer and writer. Upon graduation Cress turned a summer job in promotions with Bell Media Ottawa into a full time coordinator position. He then spent time as a community reporter with NEWSTALK 580 CFRA as well as a weather and traffic reporter, before moving into the Operations Manager role for the CTV and CFRA newsrooms. Cress enjoys the ever changing and always evolving nature of broadcasting, where no two days are the same. The fast paced, fluid nature of journalism, and the critical service to the community it provides are what keep Cress motivated. Cress speaks English.
