A tractor trailer driver has been extricated after the rig flipped on the westbound ramp of the Highway 401 at Provincial Road in Tecumseh.
Essex County OPP say the crash Tuesday afternoon involved a single-vehicle tractor trailer.
The driver was trapped in the cab of the rig for two hours.
Police say the driver is in serious condition, but is stable.
The tractor trailer was carrying automotive parts.
The ramp is expected to remain closed for several hours for the police investigation. Police are asking motorists to avoid the area if possible.
