Youth charged following alleged assault at a Leamington school

A 13-year-old male is facing charges after an incident at Cardinal Carter Secondary School in Leamington.

On Tuesday, September 16^th OPP responded to Cardinal Carter after a report of an assault that had taken place earlier in the day.

Police say that a 13-year-old male allegedly assaulted another 13-year-old old with a pencil following a verbal altercation.

The victim sustained minor injuries and did not require medical assistance.

The male suspect has been charged with assault with a weapon.

Both the suspect and victim’s identities are being withheld under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
