Members of World Gym in LaSalle and Windsor are expressing frustration that both locations remain closed.
While the LaSalle location opened this week, it quickly closed again. A sign on the door there says the facility is temporarily closed.
This is the latest incident in what has been a bumpy start for the gym.
The fitness club was originally scheduled to open in December, but that never happened.
In January, the owner took to Facebook to thank his customers for their patience and to let them know it would open on Jan. 29.
But when that day arrived, the doors remained closed.
This past Wednesday the gym finally did open, only to be closed again on Thursday.
“It's still closed, I guess. Very frustrating,” said Frank Provenzano
“Come on now - it's been well over a month and a half. They kept telling me a week, then two weeks. Let’s open this place. We're all ready."
The gym has faced several construction delays and members want answers.
Bill Garvey is trying to train for a fitness competition.
“I'm getting ready for a competition in May. Now I have to go to another gym and pay some money to go work out when I already signed up here, so it's disappointing, frustrating,” he said.
CTV News spoke to owner Wes Hodson on the phone Saturday and scheduled a phone interview in the afternoon. But after several phone calls, it seemed he was no longer available.
A man who identified himself as a manager at the LaSalle location did not want to appear on camera. He told CTV News the gym had permission to temporarily open, but was asked to close by the Town of LaSalle the following day to complete a final inspection.
But without concrete answers as to what's going on, some members are starting to sweat.
While some are suggesting they’ve been taken for a ride, others are confident the gym will eventually open.
"It is the World Gym and it's supposed to be all over the world. That gives me some confidence. I just wish this branch would open,” said member Michael Wiley.
The on site manager also said the doors to the gym will hopefully re-open on Monday and that they are trying to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.
