Windsor police released a video snapshot of a man they allege stole a purse from a woman visiting her husband’s bedside in hospital.
According to police, officers were dispatched to Windsor Regional Hospital at 2:35 a.m. for a report of a stolen purse. Upon arrival officers spoke with a 55-year-old woman who said that she fell asleep in a chair at her husband’s bedside in a resuscitation room, when she awoke to see a man holding her purse.
The woman yelled at the male who fled the room. Police says the purse and wallet were later discovered in close proximity. An undisclosed amount of currency was taken from the wallet.
Police says video surveillance captured the suspect in the hallway.
