A Windsor woman has been arrested and charged with fraud following an investigation into alleged false health claims made to an insurance company.
In November 2014, the Peterborough Police Service’s Fraud Unit began the investigation.
Between 2011 and 2013 it was reported that the accused forged documents and made fraudulent healthcare claims to her insurance provider totalling approximately $23,000.
Peterborough police say the accused lived in Peterborough during the offence period.
As a result of the investigation, Patrice June Surette, 43, of Windsor, was arrested at the Peterborough Police station on Monday.
She’s charged with fraud over $5,000, making a forged document, use, deals, acts on forged document.
The accused appeared in court on Monday and was released from custody. She is scheduled to appear again in court on June 16.
