A 27-year-old Windsor woman is in police custody after a series of alleged robberies over the past few days.

The first happened Friday, July 14, when the suspect allegedly stole a bicycle from two boys, 12 and 14, in the area of Giles Boulevard and Mercer Street. When one of the boys attempted to step in, she allegedly pulled a knife and threatened the young male. They backed away and the female left riding the bicycle.

Officers were able to identify the suspect after an investigation, but she remained at large.

Then on Sunday, police allege the same suspect stole someone’s phone near the 2800 block of Howard Avenue. She returned it, but just before officers arrived.

The suspect was tracked down by police a short distance away and placed under arrest.

Police say they located a knife, a quantity of drugs and other suspected stolen property.

Miruna Alecu, 27, is charged with robbery with a weapon, robbery, utter threats, possess weapon for a purpose dangerous to public peace, theft, and possession of a controlled substance.
