With three weeks to go before the Windsor-Tecumseh byelection, leaders from all parties are paying close attention to the area.

PC leader Tim Hudak was in Windsor Thursday. He joined Windsor-Tecumseh candidate Robert de Verteuil to talk about jobs.

While touring Valient Manufacturing, Hudak stressed the importance of job creation, adding the area has suffered from what he calls a Liberal/NDP coalition.

De Verteuil says the area needs to produce skilled workers.

“We need to focus on education and we need to supply 21st century workers for a 21st century automotive industry," says de Verteuil.

He adds job creation can flourish by looking stateside.

“We can also have people working in Detroit,” he says.  “They can make those wages over there, bring them home here, gain those skills."

Hudak says the byelection is a time for voters to send a clear message to the Liberals and the NDP.

“I know that Windsor can once again be a place of hope and opportunity. A place where there are good jobs for those who work hard,” says Hudak.
