A Windsor Spitfire player is facing two charges of sexual assault from separate incidents.

Ben Johnson, 18, appeared in a Windsor court Monday afternoon. He faces two charges of sexual assault against a 16-year-old and a 20-year-old.

Windsor police were called to Windsor Regional Hospital at about 1:50 a.m. Monday for a report of a sexual assault.

Officers say a 16-year-old female indicated that she was sexually assaulted in the washroom of a downtown night club. The victim gave police the name of the accused.

The location of the assault was secured by police for a forensic examination.

Police went to an address in the 11000 block of Rockland Street at about 3:55 a.m. and arrested Johnson without incident.

Johnson, from Calumet, Mich., had 20 goals and 17 assists with the Spitfires this season. He was selected by the New Jersey Devils in the third round, 90th overall in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
