Windsor’s Melissa Bishop has qualified for the 800 metre final at the IAAF World Track and Field Championships in London, England.

Bishop ran her semi-final today in a time of 1:59.56, good enough for second in the heat.

She looked comfortable in the race, holding the second position the entire race.

Bishop cruised through her heat Thursday, finishing second with a qualifying time of 2:01.11

The former University of Windsor Lancer Track and Field stand-out is the defending silver medalist in the women’s 800 metre race.

The finals take place this Sunday at 3:10 p.m. Eastern Time.
