A violent assault overnight Sunday sent one man to hospital with a bloody nose, cuts under his eyes and injured ribs.

Windsor police say the 44-year-old man was assaulted with a bat and a cane in the 2600 block of Richmond Street while walking by a home about 4 a.m.

They say he exchanged words about a female with a group of males and approached the house, where he was assaulted.

A 53-year-old man was arrested and faces an assault charge. Two more suspects are wanted by police.

One man is white and in his 20s and the second is black, in his 30s.
