Windsor police are seeking a woman driver who allegedly hit a 16-year-old girl on her bicycle and drove away.
It happened at 2:40 p.m. on Wednesday at Bernard Road and Seminole Street. The girl was transported to hospital with pain in her lower back, knee and ankle.
Police say the girl was riding her bicycle westbound on Seminole Street approaching Bernard Road. A male witness driving a green Jeep was north on Seminole Street stopped at the stop sign.
The witness says the cyclist was struck by a southbound vehicle as she passed the front of his car. The impact caused the girl to land on the hood of the vehicle and she then rolled off onto the ground. The vehicle then fled the scene south on Bernard Road, according to police.
The vehicle is described as a newer model black vehicle with tinted windows. It had blue lights that flickered across the front grill. The front grill and hood could show some damage.
The victim told police that when she landed on the hood she looked directly into the vehicle and that the driver was looking at her.
The driver was described as a black female, about 34 years old with black curly hair.
