Officers were called out to the intersection of Westminster Boulevard and Reginald Street around 8:30 Thursday night.

An employee at Fred’s Variety did told CTV Reporter, Stefanie Masotti, a woman came into the store carrying an axe and demanded money.

The store clerk handed the suspect some cash and two packs of cigarettes before she fled on foot.

Her face wasn’t covered and the clerk believes she is one of the stores regular customers.

She’s described as white, about 5’7”and was wearing dark jeans and a black and grey jacket.

Police gathered evidence, including surveillance video from the scene.
