Windsor police forensic investigators say they’ve located blood evidence Wednesday at the scene of a violent home invasion .

Investigators believe the blood located at a residence in the 800 block of Langlois Avenue to be from one of the suspects involved in home invasion, where a man was shot in the head. Police says the suspects either bled from the nose or some other type of injury.

Officers say the blood, along with other evidence has been sent to Toronto for analysis.

Windsor police say a 49-year-old man received a gunshot wound to his head and a number of lacerations to his scalp during the home invasion.

Investigators say two men entered the home at 9:30 p.m. Monday. Three people were inside the residence when a physical confrontation took place. The suspects fled the scene after the altercation, taking nothing.

The victim was transported to hospital where he underwent surgery. He remains in the intensive care unit in stable condition.

The first suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his early 20’s, about 5’7” tall, with a medium build, shaved head, darker skin, wearing a black jacket with a fur lined hood and grey jogging pants.

The second is described as possibly a white male, in his early 20’s, about 5’7” tall, slim build wearing a grey hoody and black ball cap.

Major crimes unit is continuing the investigation and have interviewed a number of witnesses of to the attack which investigators say was a targeted, drug related occurrence.
