Four people from Montreal have been arrested for fraud after allegedly using and making fake credit cards in Windsor. 

Windsor police responded to a fraud in progress call at the Real Canadian Superstore at 4371 Walker Rd. on Wednesday.

Store security told police several people purchased $600 in gift cards. The loss prevention officers say they saw the transaction take place and believed that a fraud had taken place.

The loss prevention officer followed the people to the Costco parking lot. The parties got out of their vehicle and entered the Staples at 4311 Walker Rd.  Uniform officers attended and placed four people under arrest.  

Officers of the financial crimes unit launched an investigation and say they discovered a credit card theft ring and a clandestine credit card production lab.

Police say the group had been using stolen American credit card numbers in order to produce fraudulent credit cards.  The group allegedly went to several stores in the Windsor-Essex area and made purchases of items including gift cards. 

Three men and a woman from Montreal have been arrested and charged with fraud under $5,000.

Doris Buissereth, 21, Lambert Tourigny-Pepe, 21, Jean Galli Fabien, 22, Joanie Boisvert-Deruisseaux, 20, have been remanded in police custody. Police say additional charges are pending with the continuation of the investigation.
