A 17-year-old Windsor youth has been arrested in connection with a November home invasion.

Windsor police officers say they spotted the teenager around 3:30 p.m. on Monday near Erie Street East and Elsmere Avenue.

The youth was wanted after a home invasion robbery in the 500 block of Pierre Avenue on Nov. 26.

Officers say the young person ran when a police vehicle approached him. After a brief chase on foot, the offender was found in a backyard in the 900 block of Howard Avenue. Police made the arrest without incident.

The teen was charged with robbery, break and enter, possession of a weapon and breaching Youth Criminal Justice Act disposition. An additional breach charge was laid at the time of the arrest because the young person has a 24-hour curfew.

In the November incident, police say two teens broke into the Pierre Avenue home around 10:30 p.m. One of the suspects pulled out a handgun, demanding baseball hats and an iPhone from two boys - a 12-year-old and 17-year-old. The victims weren't hurt.

The other suspect, an 18-year-old Windsor man, turned himself into police on Jan. 8. He was charged with robbery, break and enter, and possession of a weapon.
