A Windsor philanthropist found guilty of mischief has been given an absolute discharge.

Alan Quesnel will not receive a penalty for punching a windshield in January 2014.

In June, a jury found the 47-year-old business man guilty of the crime, but not guilty of more serious weapons offences.

His lawyer Andrew Bradie says Quesnel is pleased to put the matter behind him.

Bradie pointed out the judge didn't feel the crown's request for counseling was necessary.
