A Windsor police officer pleaded guilty to two police act charges at a hearing on Thursday.

Const. Kent Rice pleaded guilty to unnecessary use of force and discreditable conduct in an incident that took place on February 22, 2012.

The prosecutor and defence have made a joint submission for sentencing – an 18-month demotion from Windsor police, which would cost Rice $14,000.

The police prosecutor says the judge will take one week to consider the sentence and then come back on Sept. 18 to sentence Rice.
