It was the final order of business for Councillor Percy Hatfield.
Monday night’s meeting was the last for Hatfield after his election win as Windsor-Tecumseh MPP on Thursday.
“Goodbye for now and good luck to all.”
Hatfield received a standing ovation after serving his constituents for seven years.
Mayor Eddie Francis had some observations, “You came here to do a job you always listened to both sides and regardless what the consequences may or not have been, you always tried to make the right decision.”
Hatfield’s election win won’t be considered official until results of the byelections are published in the Ontario Gazette, expected within the next two weeks.
A decision to hold a municipal byelection, or appoint a replacement for Ward 7 will likely happen before the end of the month.
