Windsor police have charged a Windsor mom with abduction of her 18-month-old son.
Officers were called to a residence located in the 1200 block of California Avenue for an 18-month-old boy that was abducted by his mother who was not the legal guardian, as a result of a court order.
Investigation revealed that the child was in the care of a family member at the time.
The 33-year-old mother allegedly entered the residence through a window and the family member attempted to get her out of the house and a physical altercation ensued.
The woman then grabbed the child and fled the residence on foot.
Numerous WPS units were deployed to locate the child.
Investigators received information that a vehicle was attending a residence to pick-up the child.
Officers found the vehicle at about 12 p.m. in the 3500 block of Sandwich Street and observed a child being carried towards the vehicle.
Police apprehended the child and placed a female and the male driver of the vehicle under arrest without incident. The mother was also located and placed under arrest.
The child was in good health and was safe.
Karen Hoyt, 33, of Windsor is charged with abduction in contravention of custody order, break and enter and assault.
Joseph Quaglia, 34, from Windsor is charged with abduction.
Nicole Shepley, 20, from Windsor is charged with abduction.
