A surprise plea in a Windsor murder case.

Colin Chrisjohn has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of Amir Hayat Malik.

Chrisjohn was originally charged with second degree murder, but pleaded guilty to the lesser charge during his preliminary hearing this week.

Malik was 32 at the time his body was found in June 2015.

Two electricians discovered his body in an alley behind 563 Brant Street.

Post mortem examination results indicated Malik died as a result of blood loss caused by severe trauma to the body.

Police charged Chrisjohn, who is now 25 years old, a week later.

Police also said the two men were known to each other.

Chrisjohn is scheduled to be sentenced on September 21st.
