A Windsor man pleaded guilty to 19 charges related to child pornography.

James Piche, 30, was arrested on Sept. 23, 2014 at a home on Church Street. It was part of a massive province-wide child exploitation investigation.

The charges he pleaded guilty to on Thursday included 15 counts of making child pornography, two counts of sexual interference, possessing child porn and sexual assault.

The offences date as far back as 2006, with three alleged local victims involved.

Piche's defence lawyer Elizabeth Craig says “my client took responsibility for his actions.”

He is facing a jail term of seven to 10 years.

Defence and Crown lawyers will now prepare sentencing submissions for Piche to be heard on Sept. 2 before Justice Lloyd Dean.

In October 2014, Windsor police investigators say they seized 28 terabytes of data from Piche’s residence.

He was originally facing 71 charges. Craig says the remaining charges will be dropped on Sept. 2.
